The KYL target

This is the Know Your Limit target that we shoot with the Ruger MK II and MK III pistols and our 22 rifles. It has 8 spinners from the left to right that get smaller. They start at 2" and get a 1/4" smaller until the last one is only 1/4". We are getting it pretty well beat up and going to need some truing up to the 3/4" down to the 1/4" that is really in sad shape. Hard to imagine a lead 22 bullet can damage steel as bad as it does. The 1/4" one has been shot more than any of the other ones. When we are shooting sometimes the 1/4" is the only one we will keep shooting after we get to the end if we hit all seven of the others and then hit the eighth one we will shoot it until we see how many times we can hit it out of 10-12 shots.
This day my wife shot a couple mags full at it with her Ruger MK II at 30 yds. when we finished up with the rifles at 50 yds. She hit it more than she missed until she got past the number five which is the 1". On the last string she got the 3/4" but missed the 1/2" and the 1/4" several shots. The red dot completely hides the target and it ends up guessing where the target is. She had multiple hits on the first five targets with the several magazines full she fired before loading every thing and heading home. She was shooting from sand bags at the bench.

Here's a trick I use with red dots that might be worth a try on those smaller targets. Use the top of the red dot as the aiming point, placing it at six o'clock on the spinner, instead of covering it with the red dot. Keeps the target visible. Takes a quality red dot with a sharp dot, but there are some out there. It's a technique I use for long distance shooting with red dots, but it might work for you. Regardless, that is a very challenging target setup. Great work.
