Really fun day on the 4th

Yesterday my wife and I went to the range to meet up with my friend that bought a new target to shoot. My wife was excited that she was going to get to shoot several different 22's. We took the CZ Trainer and her new to her 10/22. My friend brought his new Tikka T1x with a 24X scope and his new Anshutz target rifle based on the 64 action with a super light trigger. He was also using some high dollar ammo in both. My wife was shooting CCI Auto Match and my CZ was getting fed CCI Standard velocity. He had the Know Your Limit(KYL) spinner target. When we got there the sky opened up and we had a down pour for an hour and the range turned into a mini lake. We stayed under roof until it let up and I set the target out at 40 yds. where the ground was more solid and not flooded. He shot the Tikka first and ran the entire string. Then my wife shot the Ruger 10/22 with only a 6X leupold on it and got down to the last one(1/4") and couldn't see it well and missed the first shot and he told her shoot again and she hit it. Overall shooting four different rifles she ran the string of targets with out a miss 5 out of eight times and it was always the 1/4" last target that got her. My friend just sit there shaking his head when she could run them off with the Ruger that he had gave her a week or so ago with only a 6X scope and a 4 1/4 lb. trigger. He was trying to talk her into entering some of the informal matches he shoots in. She had some big smiles while there at the range. She did really well with the bolt rifles with the more powerful scopes. Overall even with the terrible amount of rain we had a blast and can't wait to do it again.
