A new world record record was just set at a 1000 yards. Amazing shooting at very long range. Congratulations to the shooter.

Sweet. The best thing is he was humble about it and admits it was a perfect day for shooting it.

He done real good!! I was interested partially because my son-in-law has been doing long-distance shooting competitions for the last two years....it's his gun sport passion also.

For myself, after reading the set up (particularly the rifle specs), I didn't know any of the component names listed! Again realized that there sure is a lot of stuff out there for our different shooting sports.

I particularly like the fellow's "advice" in the last paragraph. What he said mirrors almost exactly comments I've seen by other shooting sports people on getting involved with a particular sport: that there are helpful & friendly people out there willing to guide a newbie to get started, and welcome him/her to the "games."

per the link in post 1, the record was set at a range in my home state of NC .... the second picture shown at this link ===> http://hawksridgegunclub.com/photos.html , provides a pretty good idea of the distance .... remarkable, truly remarkable

no doubt about the first shot but after that, Badger's transition instantly to that of a rodeo bronc would most certainly complicate things ..
