Got out for a bit this morning concentrating on 'Buffalo Bill' (Commemorative Winchester 30-30) and I don't think this 5 shot group is too shabby - the flyer opened it up but I had four going well! Oh, yes, 50 yards offhand kneeling.

Yes, something would be dead. Nice shooting.

Absolutely "not too shabby" for 50-yards, off hand, kneeling with a .30-30. I'd take it.

Great work from a kneeling position, definitely. Kneeling is a position I've been trying to do a bit, this year. Very practical field position, but not easy to master. I'd take that group, anytime.

Thanks everyone for the 'pep talk' - I am still getting back on track after my eye surgery and it has been challenging to say the least ! Still trying to find the best front sight to go with my peep rear. Its obvious a LARGER bead or blade is part of what I need and "Buffalo Bill' unfortunately has about the tiniest silver front bead made so I need to get something larger on the way.
My goal is a sub 1" group from a bench which is why I am doing a lot of my shooting with new load development off hand - when I get the best I can off hand I'll switch back to the bench for the 'fine tuning'
This may sound 'bassackwards' but it does make sense.....

It does to me, load development for me is about eliminating as many variables as possible so the results reflect the accuracy of the loads I'm testing. If Im doing load development I don't wont to be testing my shooting skills so all mine is done of a bench with as solid a rest as I can get. I want my shooting skills to have as little influence as possible on the results.
