Picked up rifle Monday, got home after dark. Left work yesterday early so I could shoot. Took 1:45 hours to go 8 miles home; Got home after dark.
Maybe third time is a charm. Got home today at 3:30. Cleaned rifle before I shoot. Drove to the end of my property ( Yeah I’m lucky). Set up target and it started raining. 15 rounds down range in the rain. Cycled perfectly. 357 in the Big Boy is like a 22.
I’ll try the stock sights a couple more times in better light. I don’t shoot off hand much and Not the best of conditions today but I’m pleased with the results. Shot 357 only. Had 38 P+ but rain won out today.

Seriously, welcome to the forum. I find that .357 is a much more satisfying round in the Henry. I wouldn't exactly call them like a .22, but they are very manageable. Now .38s in the Henry have extremely little recoil and report. The magnums cycle better anyway. I load my own, so the only down side to the magnums is finding enough cases.

The all weather sure is a pretty rifle.

Skinner lo-pro installed w existing front Henry sight. I was able to drop the ramp down on the buck horn and easily shoot over it.

I like the peep profile much more than the buckhorn, especially since I am far sighted. The peep works better without me having to wear readers than the buckhorn did.

More 357 today down range. Still shooting on the LH side of the target but skinner elevation adjusted up easily to where i’m consistently at the right level. Still shooting standing so no way to really evaluate accuracy. I’ll. Make a rest of sorts and shoot off of my back porch railing in the next few days.

All weather Henry is still feeding well. Even had a friend shoot w no glitches.
