Range time! I managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the range this afternoon. Haven't been for a couple of weeks. Shooting my one and only rifle, the 1860 Henry in 45 Colt. Cold day, with a 40 mph wind but coming straight out of the west and carrying my bullets right to the target. Today, if I could get my sights lined up, lead was going where I put it. :D These may be my best targets to date.

25 yds, off hand standing. Open factory sights. Winchester 250 gr LFN. Most consistent ammo for me. Black Hills is nice too, but this stuff is very reliable. I shot 13 rounds x 2 on this target. I usually load 12 but it will hold 13, I just don't normally compress the spring that tight. But it was cold on the hands today with that wind, so I wimped out. I was pretty happy with the grouping.

Over to the 50 yd range, off hand standing again. Same ammo, open sights again, but groups not quite as tight. Rifle worked sooo smooth as I just oiled it last week. 24 rounds.

And why wouldn't you be? Happy?? I'd be ecstatic if I could shoot like that. Image

Reading your range reports never ceases to bring a smile of pure joy to my face, RR. That gun, that cartridge and your shooting just make for an awesome package. Keep 'em coming.
