Cooler today but windy...about 45-50 mph breeze, so off to the range with my cowboy guns! Temperature about 65F, "desert-dry" but the range was open. Holy smokes that wind makes hitting anything a challenge! "I'd gladly meet you in the street at high noon Curly Bill, but that darn wind is blowing too hard today....let's see what tomorrow looks like."
Shooting my 1860 Henry and my 1871 Colt Richards conversion revolver, both in 45 Colt. Here's some targets at 25, 50 and 100 yards and the fine frontier weapons that made them.
The 1871 Colt Richards cartridge conversion revolver. 8" barrel, open top, SA Army. 25 Yards, 1 hand. Not exactly anything to brag about but it's my obligation to show the good, the bad and the ugly. 1 in the red is good but others not so much. But I usually shoot 1 hand at about 15 yds, so I won't lose sleep.
Next up is the 1860 Henry at 50 yards off hand standing and elevation challenged today. I should have moved the target lower...
Last is the 1860 Henry at 100 yards, off hand standing....actually got some rounds on the 8" target! 8 out of 13 rounds on the black, some just barely... All ammo was Remington 250 gr Lead Round Nose, just cuz I had some to use up. Not my favorite ammo, but nothing really wrong with it, I just like the Winchester better.
And of course, the firearms.....
