I just took a 15 minute break from working in the garage and shot this tuna fish can ten times from 15 yards. I'm going to keep a running total and see how many hits before a miss.

Don't forget to say "Sorry Charlie" after each hit.

Now you're talking my kind of fun. Tell us about the gun.

It's a Beeman HW70 made by Weihrauch in Germany and is a .177 caliber break barrel pellet pistol. It has an adjustable rear sight and a hooded front sight. It's a lot more accurate in the hands of its former owner who is also a member of this forum. It has a nice smooth grip and balance. Most of the best grips are either for left or right handed people and not both but this grip works great either left or right. I shoot both right and left handed. The trigger is perfect. I haven't put a gage to it but would guess its around 2 pounds or slightly less.

I just shot two more groups of ten so my total is now 30 hits without a miss. I still have an hour of daylight left.

Go, Gene, go. We're pulling for you!

I got an air pistol from the same guy, by the way. It's one of my favorites.

I went out for the 31st shot and missed. Had to start over but got up to 20 again.

I do the same thing with our spinner and reactive targets on our outdoor airgun range. Makes it more interesting and challenging to do the count thing. We had such a wet summer, that most of our range was wet or even under water, since it sits in low, swampy bog. For much of the summer, too much hassle to wade out through the water and mud to post targets, so we just shot spinners and metal targets.

My favorites are the flip up metal targets where you shoot a paddle to drop them all back into shooting position.

Another fun target are the silhouettes that are based on the targets used in Field trial Target. With these targets, you score a hit by punching out the yellow paddle in the center of the target. It drops away with a direct hit. A body hit or a partial hit that fails to drop the paddle, no score. On these, there is a paddle at the bottom that you shoot to reset. You can also vary the size of the opening to access the center paddle.

That makes three of us with treasured guns from our mutual friend.

Keep plugging away Gene, my money is on you getting 30 in less than a week.

Just made 10 more hits so the total is back at 30. Kind of windy so I'm not sure if I'll shoot anymore today. Should my count start over on a new day or can I continue from 30?

Well, since you (and almost all of us) only compete with ourselves, that's a rhetorical question. But, if I had a real vote, I would select tomorrow's first hit as 31. :D

I say start at 31, tomorrow. Gives you something to worry about, overnight. :)

All this counting is giving me a headache. Never have been any good at 'rithmetic.

Anytime I hit anything I'm always 1 for 1. Easy to keep track and I'm always happy with my shooting. :)

Okay only 7 hits before a miss. I'm going to record both daily continuous hits and ongoing. After my miss I stopped shooting so I was 7/37 but now am 0/0.
