Got to fire a Garand today

A guy at the range today had his newly acquired M1 Garand and invited me to shoot it. After a bit of arm twisting, I reluctantly agreed (just kidding)!

Wow, what a sweetie that thing is. I think I definitely need one of my own. The windage was a little off on the rifle, and I missed with my first shot. I held a bit more to the right and nailed a steel swingers at 100 yards with my second shot.

My advice? If you get the opportunity to try out a Garand, do not hesitate. Jump at it. :)

Always glad to read about great days at the range.
And will definitely follow your advice if I ever bump into a friendly guy at the range with his new Garand!!

You better watch out, because you now will need to get one! The are fun to shoot for sure. Mine is a WWII one made in February of 1943.

I have one. Its fun to shoot. Last summer I got to run the IPSIC course with the Garand when we were done with pistols. I think it was near a hundred rounds. It was the most powerful weapon there that day.

I try not to shoot anyone else's gun because I might like it and want to buy one!
Hell, you called it a "sweetie " and now I'm looking! Thanks!

The list of guns I "need" because I shot someone else's gun grows longer all the time. :)

Just seeing someone with a nice firearm gets my mind wondering and I hate it when that happens

There is 2 special enbloc in above pic . There is a 5 shot enbloc in box for hunt where 5 shot are only allowed auto to hunt with and the is single shot one in box that stay in gun and that allows single loading rounds in gun and firing it ..
