Long awaited therapy!

Post by DWD445 » Sat Dec 10, 2016 7:08 pm

Finally got to the range, last few weekends, stuff happened, like the washing machine died etc. But got there today. 45 1911 & 44 10".
Man that 44 shoots nice. The lower rt. circle is the 44 at 25' and the left circle is 50' one hand.
Center 3" circle is the 45 at 30'. I feel much better now :D
I must've missed the power on a 44 reload, squib stuck a bullet in between the cylinder and the barrel. 15 min. ,unscrewed barrel and tapped it out.
Anything other than a DW and that would've been a trip to the gun smiff

Nice shooting, there, DWD. Love the one-handed work.

Glad you got out. We're headed down below zero in a few days, so no telling when I'll get out with my beloved 1911s.

Might want to explain about the Dan Wesson. I'll bet there's not a lot of folks, here, that know about that barrel feature.

A picture beats a thousand words !!
Was clean up time anyhow, so had the barrel off and it's all good now.
Great straight shooting gun, and yes that's a full size 1911 5" next to the 44
Was really happy with my 2nd time out with it groups, a little high a 50', but lighting sucks at our indoor range (no making excuses, it was me too). A little cold outside, but inside exhaust fan wasn't much better. Had FUN :D

It sounds like you had a great day out, DWD. There is absolutely nothing better than blowing off life's little frustrations down at the range. ;)

You have two beautiful handguns there. That 44 looks like a real handful - no pun intended!

Once it warms up to zero I might get out to shoot. Nice targets, looks like you had fun.

Look at that wheel gun. Holy smokes. Do you carry it in a rifle bag?
