I tried a new handload today, ZERO 125 grain JSPs loaded with H110. I used Hornady's 9th ed. data (for pistols) at a bit over mid-range for the bullet. I also shot my usual handload of ZERO 130 grain FMJs loaded with Unique at about mid-range for that bullet. There was a discernible difference between the two rounds in each of my guns. With the 125, the Uberti SmokeWagon revolver had a noticeable kick and plenty of bright fire. With the Henry H006M, recoil was not noticeable at all, but there was a much louder report. Accuracy with the 125 JSPs seemed to have been worse than the 130 FMJs. I shot a box of 50 125s first, a box of 50 130s next; alternating five rounds each between the two guns, 25 rounds at each target.

My range is indoors and I shoot standing, off hand with the rifle at 75 feet; standing, one handed with the revolver at 25 feet.

As usual, I enjoyed the time at the range and learned a bit more about my guns and my handloads. This is a great hobby!

Nice shooting! Looks like both guns liked the 130 bullet!

Thanks. I've been using the same powder charge for the 130 FMJs for the last several hundred rounds and it has been consistently good. I need to experiment a bit now to find one that will improve the 125 JSPs, too. It'll be fun to work it out. I have lots of them so I hope I'm able to find it soon. ;)

Looks like you have found a recipe that both guns like. I will have to take up hand loading when I retire from this pesky day job grind.
