NCGs posting of her newly acquired 10/22 influenced me to take one of mine out and warm the barrel up. So today along with a couple of pistols off to the plinking range I went for a couple of hours. I have no targets to show as shooting paper just isnt something Im interested in doing. I threw some clays on the bank and shot at them with my 686 SAR 9mm and the 10/22. I had some loads I wanted to shoot in the 686. 4 different loads using Zero 125gr flat nose bullets that I bought from Vaquero. 2 loads were loaded with Unique and 2 loads with 231. All the loads with that bullet shot really pretty good and the recoil was minimal which I like. The best of the bunch was with 5.6 gr of 231. Im trying to stay away from loading much Unique and using powders that I can still get. I also shot my SAR K12 9mm. Its just a great pistol to shoot. Its a single action with target sights and its weight is what makes it so nice to shoot. Its also very accurate. My gunsmith went through it also and it has about a 2.5 lb trigger which makes it fun to shoot. I then pulled out the 10/22. With its aftermarket carbon fiber barrel and the scope I picked apart the clays and also chased a couple of those orange self sealing balls around the berm. It was good to get the 10/22 out. Hopefully it wont be so long to get it out again

Love the guns, especially your 10/22. I will probably add an aftermarket barrel to one of my 120/22s, next. What brand is yours?
By the way, you are lucky to have access to such a good gunsmith. Rare species in these parts.

Joanie its a Summit Precision barrel out of Spanish Fork Utah. Its a game changer for shooting one off hand and it will stack 10 rounds into a very small hole with the right ammo. Ive had it over 2 years. I havent shot it as much as I should have but when I do it will keep up with the Jones so to speak. I actually now have 2 gunsmiths locally and one of them is a woman who is very good from what I understand. When I was at the local gun store today they were telling me all about her.

Great day shooting for you. Is that 10/22 your LVT upgraded? I’m guessing not with the diameter of the barrel. That stock is good looking.

No Hatch. The LVT 10/22 has a green dot sight on it. This one use to have the heavy blue bull barrel on it. But shooting it offhand was ok it was a little on the heavy side. Summit Precision was a newer company when I started looking into carbon fiber barrels but the guy who runs it is very customer oriented. They have great reviews and mine shoots excellent
