Annual Sporting Clays charity shoot

Yesterday was my labor union’s annual Sporting Clays shoot. This is year 11 of this event and I’ve had the good fortune to attend 10. (Stupid camping scheduling on my part on the missed year). We started shooting trap until the trap closed due to the land being bought by a local school district in order to expand to two high schools. For the last 5-6 years we have shot Sporting Clays instead. While I do much better at Trap I do love shooting the Sporting Clays. Much more challenging but in fairness I have only ever shot trap from the 16 yard line.

The event was well attended and while there is not total on the dollar amount yet typically we raise a few thousand dollars anyway. Here’s some pictures from this years outing.

First up is my buddy John’s golf cart adaption. Worked out great for hauling our shotguns and gear. It’s about a mile walk around the 15 stations according to the facility owner. It was nice to not have to pack our gear and guns.

Great looking event and I think I will use the #12 wood on next shot!

I love that range location. Appears to be a very nice area for a nice event.

Never shot any sporting clays Hatch. But I sure do enjoy shooting skeet with my winter family in Texas. Every once in a while I even shoot a decent round. But if you break all of them it wouldnt give you a reason to come back and do it again. Kinda like golf you dont birdie every hole

Never shot skeet but it’s something I should do.

If you do break them all on a round for the first time, it'll give you a reason to buy a new hat.
