Some serious rimfire work

No handgun shooting this time, just some rimfire rifles, but what beauties they are.

First up is an Anschutz 1716 D HB, which is the latest and greatest from Anshutz. Picked it up over the winter at a nice discount. The 1716 is designed with precision rimfire completion in mind with its short, fast and smooth operating action and, of course typical Anschutz accuracy. Barrel is 18" and threaded.

Currently have it scoped with one of my Nikon Prostaff EFRs, but will likely go with a higher mag scope.

Today was about finding a preferred ammo. Tried SK Match, then some Eley Target and got some nice half inch groups at 50 yards with those, but the 1716 really went to town when I switched to Eley Subsonic HP. One fouling shot, then tucked the next five into one hole.

Next up was one of my favorites, one of our Low Wall 1885 Rimfire Hunters, this particular one is in 22 mag. It wears a Leupould VX2 4-12x with an AO.

These 1885 Rimfire Hunters are made for just that, hunting. They're no Anshutz match guns, but range trip after range trip, they've never disappointed us. We love 'em. Just operating the classic falling block action is a joy in itself. This particular Low Wall in 22 mag may not technically be a match gun, but as 22 mags go, it sure qualifies as one. This 22 mag will hold its own with any 22 mag bolt rifle I've owned.

And meanwhile, Bill was shooting up a storm with his favorite 22, namely, our CZ 453V in 22 LR.

15 shots, there.

Hard to beat rimfire shooting with such great guns. Hope you enjoyed reading about them.

:D The only thing prettier than your and Bill’s groups are the rifles themselves.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the nice comments. I still have some other newly acquired over the winter rifles and handguns in the queue, but I can only go so long without shooting one of our Low Wall single shots that we've had for a long time. Funny how some guns just do that to you. Bill's the same way with that CZ. We also have another CZ 453V, but it's in 17 HMR and he loves that one, as well. Both of these 453 CZs have done under an inch at 100 yards on many occasions, so they're right up there with any high end rimfire match guns I've had in my time.

Forty, no, I don't have a suppressor for the Anschutz, at least not yet.

Really nice shooting, as always, and beautiful guns. Love it. I guess I'll have to pull out the CZ455 and run some rounds through it, If I can get another day on the range. The weather has been killing me. It's either baking out, or pouring.
