45 Colt Pyrodex loads

Took the BB to the desert yesterday with some 250 gr bullets and case’s topped off with Pyrodex. So much fun to shoot, but not as much fun to clean up. Used Ballistol and Birchwood Gun Scrubber, running patch after patch; nope, still dirty. Eventually, I remembered that Windex worked when I was shooting black powder, so sprayed some on a couple of patches, and like magic I had a shiny, squeaky clean bore. If I can remember this solution to cleaning Pyrodex, I will be happy to load some more of that fun and smoky propellant.

Yes Pyrodex is a PIA to clean up.
I Never shoot it in modern firearms, don't even like shooting it in reg. bp arms but I do occasionally.
Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Don't like Pyrodex at all. I tried it once in my muzzleloader and it made a mess. I always cleaned with hot soapy water and then rinse with just hot water. That cleans it up fastest.

Did you use a black powder lube on your bullets?
