Some .22 Henry Pump action today !

Almost Fall like weather last couple days and had to go down to the range for work and play today.
The play part was plinking with my Henry Pump with CCI 22 Quiets and also trying the Hornady 410 Critical Defense loads in the Grzzly derringer. The load is a flex tipped slug with two .35 cal lead balls.
This time I setup the paper target and some steel mini plates for the Henry Pumper and tried my luck from 40 yds. Was hitting a bit high and to left but with a decent group.
Made a sight adjust to bring them closer to center and was happy with that. Then I had a spent 20 ga. shot shell sitting on top of target stand and my 2nd shot nailed it dead center from 40 ! Found the shell on back side of berm after it shot up with many flips and that brought a big smile to my face!
The Henry was shooting very well on the small steel plate rack from 25 yds. too.
Actually I started with the Grizzly 45/410 derringer first with two shots of the Critical Defense 410 ammo on the target from 10-15 ft. and hit about where I wanted on the paper....it would get the job done. Derringer shot well and no pain to the hand.
Then to finish off the session I fired 5-6 rounds of 45 ACP with my RIA Fat Boy 1911. Shooting my carry load of 230 gr XTP with 6.3 gr. of Unique resulted in a nice couple of groups. Have not shot it in a while but carry it quite often and it functioned flawlessly.
Was a great day cloudy 70 degrees with a slight breeze and perfect for grass cutting and some plinking fun!
Come on Fall!
