Second try with Skinner sights..BINGO!!

This is my 2nd try with Skinner sights. My 1st was not so good. The target was not the right one. A gray human torso at 30 yards there was no real point to aim at. Using my trifocals did not help either. So this time I taped the bottom part of the trifocals so no more bobble head trying to get the right sight picture. Now I used a Birchwood casey 8x8 target at 25 yards so I could actually aim at the bullseye. Even with 73 year old eyes I love the Skinner Sights. Here are the results.

Great shooting. Amazing how such a simple fix can sometimes make all the difference.

Nice shooting! Yes, shooting with different focus of glasses is not fun. Have been thinking about going with progressive lens. Yes, cost more money. But, might be worth it. During practice, covering up glasses of different focuses that has lines may be okay. During other times, that may not be an option.

Great shooting Nam Vet. It's very hard to beat Skinner sights. They make one heck of a difference.

I put a skinner sight on my 357 carbine, made all the difference. I also Floated the Ball, (6 o'clock on the black) rather than trying to aim center mass. You adjust and overcome.

I always throw an extra pair of "Last Years" reading glasses
in my shooting bag, which works well for the short barrel carbines, and the 2 hand pistol shooting. For full-size rifles, and single-hand pistol shooting I drop down another diopter. Of course, I only shoot at an indoor range (25 meters). No guarantees, but they did keep me competitive for a couple of more years . . .

One thing I didn't count on was the weight of he Golden Boy. Haven't lifted any weights in over a year, so that 7lb started to feel pretty heavy after about a hour. So it's back to the weights to my strengthen my arm muscles. At 73 I went from abs to flabs.
Thanks for all the info and well wishes.
