Range Report: The range gets improved

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Feb 25, 2022 2:56 pm

The bullet traps are much to close however I shoot where and when I can. The target line should be where the targets are and the targets should be spread out 10 to 30 feet out and suspended so I can shoot after a snow. These will eventually get buried.

In the meantime it’s plink plink plink.

I should get the centerfire stop this afternoon. I keep watching for the Amazon truck like it’s got a decoder ring on it.

I couldn’t wait any longer and threw a tin can out into the snow.

Then I took three shots with my SGC.

The sound echoed off the hills and I could hear it several times. I don’t think it was very loud. Little Girl was inside just a few feet away and didn’t wake-up.

I was shooting HV .22LR because it was the first ammo I could find. I’m still not totally unpacked.

That is a fun time plinking in the snow! Imagine the echo of a .45-70 in that area! That is one beautiful place Gene!

Thanks forty, I’ll most likely never shoot a 45-70 however a 308 is in my plans.

Bring them both. I should have a centerfire range setup by then.

I can throw in a portable target stand and a steel swinger to if it will work.

I’ve ordered several. Hope the snow melts soon.
