Brought along my Henry 45 Colt Carbine, the 1885 High Wall 45-70 heavy lead launcher and my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk .45 Colt.
Ammo for the 45 Colt was my 255 gr. MB bullets loaded with 9 gr. Unique and for .45-70 those 500 gr. lead torpedos that will find any weak spot on your target with a"mild" load of 40 gr. IMR 3031. Nothing mild with those things rocking the whole 4x4 stand and turning some of the steel into spinners...an 8 inch 3/8ths thick spinner!
Was good to catch a mild 50F day in February to shoot and have fun with another target idea. The setup survived many 45-70 and 45 Colt hits and will live on. My knuckles on my right hand are just a bit sore from getting slammed by that fancy shaped lever on the 1885 High Wall from recoil.
It was fun though! Sit back and watch what 500 gr. of mild mannered lead does
There is a lull in the action while I load the last round that hits the far left target stand so must watch. That thing almost went in orbit!!
