curious at the distance for the 2" group .... for big game hunting, that ain't bad at most any distance

distance was 100yds.
For testing purposes on this particular load I removed the Skinner sights and mounted 2-7 scope. The front sight covers around 8" at 100 yds so to get accurate info I used the scope. Without the scope I grouped 3.75" on a 3 rd sighting group. My eye goes blurry after a while looking through peep sights because I am left eye dominate shooting right handed. In my testing I want to find out what the Henry can do with various loads vs what I can or can't do.

Toss the Mag primers with cast bullet , they are to hot for them . You only need mag primers with super slow burning powder not 3031 .

nice .... sounds like your Henry does well .... I'd be very happy with groups on the scale you have achieved at 100 yards with your Henry .... I've had to go to mounting a scope on all of our rifles that can accommodate them .... at my age, simply have no desire to shoot open sights

I have a NF 5-20 scope that I use as the "STANDARD" with my 308s and 5.56s. I use a 1/4" red dot to focus on at 100 yds and when the shot goes, I know where the cross hairs were when it lit off.

Using the SR-1 target I hold at 6 o'clock just like the Garand. The Garand's front sight is thinner (NM) and there is no brass ball. I can still shoot the Garand 48 rds with 5 at the most in the 8 ring. I don't really like the brass ball at all, it screws with my eyes. I am thinking I need the Skinner front sight as well. And possibly the .040 aperture.
