Windy so just put 20 rounds on the 25 yd board. Off hand standing. As fast as I could cock and fire! Haha!! Now that's a good time!!!! Was at the range about 15 minutes total, then home for supper. Awesome rifle.

That is great shooting, RanchRoper! I use a six inch target at that same distance and you are totally inside of that and your hits are tightly grouped near the center! I'm impressed. Thanks.

Do you ever look at a target and think how to challenge yourself other than shredding the bull?
The target you used here is a good one. Next time you're at the range, use a similarly configured target. Shoot some five-round groups in the following pattern, either rapid-fire or not. Target 1 is the upper left mini. Then shoot clockwise at the other three minis, last one at the bull. Since that configuration is a 5-round group, multiples of 5 are fun to shoot as well -- 10 or 20. Or design your own pattern.

I've done this "shooting-around-the-target" quite a few times, and it's a lot of fun.
If you ever try it, that would be a cool Range Report to see. From your group size today, you should do pretty darn well!

I like to find different spots as well especially if I have to wait for the range to clear and 'go cold' before checking/changing targets.

That said, I'd just be happy to pull all the shots on target at 25 yards rapid fire!

I am looking forward to seeing you shoot with a .45 Colt revolver. You are becoming such an expert with that Henry, it is hardly a challenge anymore.

What is the effective 'long' range for that rifle? Thinking of getting the 45C.

If I set the factory sight to the top notch I can get on the paper at 100 yds. I've not shot further than that yet. I think anything longer with open sights would be a stretch. With a scope or maybe Skinners it might work.

With the practice rounds for my Big Boy 45 Colt it is the 4th notch in the sight to zero on a 8 inch plate at 100 yards. The rounds are 120 gr lead RNFP, shooting at 1,020 fps.
