It was really to windy to shoot but I shot anyway. Those holes with the cardboard were from yesterday and I repositioned the target. The other three were fired today with the Beeman P1 at 10 meters. I never really thought about the physics of shooting a springer but now that I understand what is going on I think I might like shooting it more. This wasn’t the day for precision shooting. It was too windy for that. I then shot three rounds through the HW70 only hitting paper twice. I had other things on my mind. The bistro table and chair is at 10 meters and is where I shot from today. This picture is from 25 yards and where I shot the QB78 from yesterday. After lunch was eaten the neighbor came out and I had to ceasefire. I’m going to put three bullet traps on the side range where the neighbors are seldom in their yard. I’ll shoot bb’s at the side gongs but not pellets. I need traps for those as I get too many ricochets with pellets.

I’m also following forty’s plinking and might steal a few of his ideas.

The side range needs work done to it. The branches are beginning to cover it and it needs painted and bullet traps added to the gongs so I can shoot both bb’s and pellets. I’m also working on putting together a .22 firearm to shoot in my backyard. My biggest concern is noise so it might be for shorts only. My next trip to Snoqualmie Valley Rifle Club (SVRC) will be a noise check. I’m thinking next week for that.

I like it! I was searching for a name and didn’t know what to call it. Hmmmmmm maybe a neon sign! And a t-shirt.

Thanks. I went back and reread it. Part of my problem is I’m limiting myself to the ammo I have on hand which is just a few bricks of quiet stuff. What I have the most is Aguila HV Shorts.

This might not be one of my best ideas.

The HV Shorts will be quieter than HV LRs, but still too loud for backyard work if you're trying to go unnoticed by neighbors. We found that even SV Shorts were fairly loud compared to some of the air rifles. If you want to stay in the loudness range of airguns, I'd stay with CBs or maybe the Quiets. I haven't checked on the ammo availability thing, lately, but I suspect finding CBs might be hard. We just happened to have some on hand before this latest ammo crunch.

I’ve noticed they are almost as loud as a .22LR in a short pistol barrel but fairly quiet in longer rifle barrels. One of the biggest problems is any and all sounds are bounced back directly into the neighbors yard.

They are going to be gone for three days next week and I’m planning three days of increased shooting. Of course snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.
