Window into the past; early 1800's buffalo hunt
Turning back the pages of time today....
Great day for an early spring buffalo hunt.
Packed the shooting bag with .50 cal .495 lead balls & homemade .010 lubed patches. Filled the powder horn with Triple 7 2f powder. Grab my Frontier long rifle and we head out into the hills.
Didn't take long to reach the herd....
Be real quiet....
...lookin' for the one....
oh ya, here we go.....steady, steady....KABOOM!
50 yds off hand standing, with a bit of a cross wind today so had to compensate....sure is a fun rifle to shoot!
Buffalo stew tonight!
Shoot safe, hope you enjoyed the hunt....RR

Way cool post! Was it difficult to get that close without them charging you.

You shoot great for a dead guy, or even a live guy.

Did it make a nice ring when hit?

Unfortunately I just stuck it on there for the pic. That's one of my wife's favorite yard critters....it would be fun to shoot though....

Yes, very nice shooting. You seem to have figured that rifle out.
