Big Boy 45 Colt July 31

Range time! Been very busy riding lately but finally got to the range today. Just took 20 rounds of my favorite ammo Winchester 250gr LFN. A quick 4 rounds 25 yds off hand then the rest at 50 yds off hand. Great day, no wind, factory sights as usual. Had the range to myself again. Hardly ever see anyone there. Henry as smooth as ever and I'm slowly correcting my pull to the left. What a fun rifle to shoot. Still waiting on my handgun permit...soon hopefully. There's a Colt clone calling my name.

nicely done .... enjoyed the report .... which brand of Colt clone are you considering .... I've never held/fired a Ruger Vaquero but I'd sure like to

Great results.Now is the time to pick up on reloading and look for a 7- 3/4 in . Ruger Blackhawk in .45LC and have a blast!!
(I have a Winchester Md. 94 and a Blackhawk in .45LC so i'm biased..)

I'm undecided yet on either a Uberti Colt copy or Remington copy like the one in this photo.

That is a beautiful revolver! I have two (a WWII .38 spl. and a Chiappa .22LR 1873 replica) that point of aim and point of strike are in different zip codes.(fixed sights)
If you want to shoot SASS go with a Vaquero.
If you want to target, GO BLACKHAWK!!

Ranch Roper, that Remington copy is a nice looking revolver.

I have always been intrigued by the Schofield top break revolvers. I am sure someone must make a clone of those. I just always thought those were an interesting gun. I had a H&r top break .22 LR revolver years ago and loved it. Of course, I stupidly traded it off.

I think I am going with the Ruger Vaquero myself. Need one in 357 to match the rifle.

Yes, they do. Of course, the top break revolvers are about twice the price of the standard single-action revolvers, thus the reason why I don't have one.

I'll stick with my Dan Wessons for wheelgun FUN, and most are not as $$$$ as ones mentioned prior.
Of course if you only buy 1 or 2.... not 6 lol !!!!
I shoot w/a guy near me who has 20 DWs ! Met him on DWF.
BTW .445 makes a 45 Colt seem like a 22LR. [no offence] I like Colt's too .

Yeah, I know the .45 Colt is more authentic, but I have a Rossi 92 and a Ruger GP100 in .357. Makes more sense for me to add a .357 SA revolver.

If I move up to .45 Colt, then I have a whole new caliber I need to start collecting. While that is fun, it also gets pretty expensive!

Of course, RR makes that .45 Colt look like a lot of fun!
