Took the little 22 to the desert today, using the Skinner rear aperture, and this rifle is a pleasure to shoot. Rationed out about 100 rounds (hate this ammo shortage), and the rifle was flawless.
Can’t say the same for my Miroku Win 94, with several light primer strikes. I hate that dumb rebounding hammer on such an otherwise beautiful and accurate rifle.

Know all about shooting in the desert, do it as often as possible. Maybe take it to a 'smith if possible; that Miroku should not be doing that.
Hopefully heading to the desert this Sat. Hope you get that '94 figured out.

Glad you could get that Henry out for some fun! I have heard of issues with the firing pin setup on the Miroku Winchester. Some things are best left to how they were originally designed!

The H001 Classic is indeed fun to shoot in the desert. I’ve found they perform very well in cold sub-freezing desert weather. I sometimes get light strikes on other firearms in the cold.

I have one H001 dedicated to cold weather. I removed all visible oil so that it is bone dry. In the cold it cycles and shoots perfect. In warm weather the parts swell and it is more difficult to cycle.

The bolt in particular is where most of the difficulties are in the heat.

My Marlin 39-A has the rebounding hammer which works fine as it came from the factory. I put a scope in it and needed to add a hammer extension. When I put the extension on I started having light strikes. Took the extension off and I haven’t had a problem since. Do you have an extension on your 94 by any chance?

Shot the 94 today with no hiccups. I oiled the mainspring and other internals after the last shoot; don’t know if that made a difference, or if the rifle heard me talking about trading it for a Henry.
H001 put over 100 rounds right where I was looking today. The little rifle is sheer pleasure to shoot.
