Swinging plate target repair....

Yes them 180gr. 357 Pugs are vicious little critters as you can see! Second hit on plate just snapped bolt head off and new bolts too!
This from my Henry rifle shoot few weeks ago. Going to replace all with Grade 8 hardware.

I broke one side of my cheap 8" gong a couple weeks ago with one of the 45 colts.
I still haven't repaired it.
Hanging by one chain at the moment.

I wonder if grade 8 is too brittle? Just a thought. I’m guessing you have more experience than me and have used them in the past.

how far was it between your shooting position and the target
About 30 yds.

The bolts before were the galvanized type you by at Home Depot that I had laying around. The new ones the plated kind I bought at Home Depot...all made in China of course. The others lasted a long time.

10-4 ..... historically our 357's hit really hard out to 50 or so yards and I've seen them drop whitetails in their tracks at 75 or better ....
