So I was a bit on edge trying to tell where he was from his barks and visually. First shots were with my 250 gr. MB RNFP bullet loaded with 6 gr. of Red Dot and it seems to like that load for close group paper punching from 15 yds.
Next I tried some double action shooting with 2 hand grip from 7 yds at a quick pace with some older Underwood Ammo I had left over...250 gr. RNFP rated at 850 FPS. Very nice collection of holes in center that would take care of buisness! This is a NICE shooting revolver and rear sight was untouched from when I got it.
I had read on the forums that these .45 Colt Smiths tend to shoot high even with rear sight all the way down but I did not see this.
The sight was all the way down but I was hitting at my aim point which was a great relief!
Then spent some time plinking on the steel targets with one hand grip from various distances and seemed easy to get good hits except that pig was hard to get to! https://youtu.be/idJi-3l7z_A My brass can almost full and getting late in the afternoon so called it a great time with a revolver you can just pick up and shoot with very good results!
Now where the heck did that dog get to now?? I need to find out his name from the new neighbor down the road.
A very relaxing and fun day today!
