Took the 45/70 out for a spin

Finally got around to checking the 45/70 out ( scope ), at 50 yds. As usual things didn't go well. First off, my target stand fell apart ( poor design on my part. ) Temporary fix on that. Fired the first shot ( click! ) . Ejected the cartridge, tried another, ( click ). Checked the primers, light strike. BP rising a bit here. Tried another, bang. All the rest the same. Hmmm, maybe the lever wasn't fully closed, slightly out of battery. This time both fired. Have to make sure the lever is fully closed. Lesson learned.
Now, I've got to make a run to Lowes, get some materials to make a better target stand. Just another one of those days.
Scope now set 1" hi @ 50 yds, where I wanted it.
