RR...there is a reason I said "Low Wall"...Yes, officially all 1885s are listed as High Walls...HOWEVER; those of us that have been shooting them for 20 or more years, differentiate the pistol caliber/rifle caliber units as Low Wall for the pistol caliber models and High Wall for the rifle calibers...there is quite the difference in the two..so, I will always use the "Low" term for pistol caliber rifles...all you need to do is pull up the pics for both...you'll see...Mo' later. Fair enough. Cimarron offered both. Low Wall in 45 Colt and High Wall in 45-70.
Dealer told me Cimarron no longer imports either from Uberti but said he could get both in 45 Colt from Taylors. So I went with the High Wall in 45 Colt. Like the looks better than Low Wall.

I like the looks of a Low Wall on the appropriate cartridges, such as our Low Wall configured rimfires. The Low Wall does expose more of the hammer for easier cocking, bit no big deal. Go with the one you like.

Exactly. To me the High Wall just looks a little more old timey. But both are cool and hope mine shows up before I'm too old to lift it....

Hey, no kidding on the weight of these classic single shots. My Winchester Low Wall Hunter series are pretty reasonable, though, as are some versions of the Ruger No 1.

My plan is to learn to shoot it without the crossed sticks. Standing or from 1 knee (mostly). We'll see. Looking forward to the challenge.
