30-30 side gate gets some target time

Post by brianpa » Mon Jun 19, 2023 9:55 pm

Had time for 6 shots at 45 yds. today resting off a clothesline post. Not the sturdiest but the best I had.
I was trying some reloads of 160gr. FTX Lever Revolution bullets with 29.0gr. of IMR 4895. I think I will stick with these and see how they do on deer this fall.

Nice group, and good shootin, a touch high at that distance is about perfect.
Next outing, if you can maybe try a little farther just for the heck of it.

Vaquero, That’s my plan if I can but I’m limited right now. I might be able to squeeze out 75yds.but it will be close.

Nice shooting. With that group I think you"ll be able to knock those whitetail critters over.

Good load and nice shooting. I'd leave it be also.
