Nice shootin ! That 1:20 twist is about right for 44. It used to be a slow 1:38 before and I think Henry corrected that back in 2020. My older 44 Mag Henry carbine had an oversized bore plus the 1;38 twist and would not shoot mid range cast loads very well with key hole hits.
6.5 gr. Unique is a bit light but I know you are running a suppressor and want less than 1100 FPS. Try 6 gr. of Red Dot and I bet that will group even better with light loads.
I’ve got a brass BB 44 with the 1/38” twist. It’s crazy accurate with 240 xtp’s, but you are right, accuracy falls off with 270-300 gr bullets, even when sized to.432
I’m thinking about having Tom at Accurate Molds make me a 340 gr mold, since the X should stabilize it nicely.
I’ll have to pick up a lb of red dot. Only have unique, be 86, aa 7, aa 9, w296, longshot, lil gun, titegroup, hs6, autocomp, silhouette, 800x, and bullseye on hand
Tried trail boss and while it sounded like a subsonic 22 lr suppressed, groups were dismal. Like 3” at 50 yards. Anybody have luck with TB?
