Range Report: shooting vs snow blowing

I finished the snow blowing of the garage apron and driveway. It takes more manhandling than I expected.

After that was done I napped and warmed up for and hour and then went back out to plink. I’ll most likely spend the rest of the daylight hours shooting for 15 minutes and warming up for 15 just repeats it

Plink, plank, plink.

I had a Honda track drive snowblower at work for several years and while it would really move the snow it did require quite a bit of effort to maneuver. I see that some of the newer fancier snowblowers will steer by independently braking one side or the other but with the one I had if you needed to turn you had to muscle it around. It would also really cut through packed/plowed snow but you had to keep some upward pressure on it to get it down to bare pavement, if you let up it would start to ride up on the snow.

It has a brake steer for sharp corners but for slight changes it’s better to muscle it. Then ther is the keeping it down like you say all while keeping the blow directed where you want it.

I would get snow blowing done, then if able, relax and shoot. For me, that’s easier said than done.

Gene, will the county plow any or all your driveway when they come thru plowing the roads?

I’d build some snowman targets - but it looks like powder snow.

No. The previous owners were snowed in two years ago. The town sent in a front loader to dig them out because they can’t plow five feet of drifted snow. That’s why they sold the house. They now live over the hill and are my closet’s neighbors.

If I remove the snow daily it won’t get so deep.
