D5 Ranges
D5 Ranges
Over the last couple of years my son has become friends with the owners of this company. If your not familier with this company ( I was not) they build gun ranges for commercial uses and for police department, government agency's, and the military. They are consider the Cadillac in the industry. He called me to let me know that they have open a state of the art facility in Marengo,Il to show case what they can do.They have refurbished an historical building into a 32,000 square , two levels of retail, ranges, and a tactical training building inside the building. I lived in that town for a couple years before relocating to NC. I know that building well as it sits right next to a favorite pizza shop. It also cool that they decided to locate there as the town could use the jobs and cash that will follow. The best news is he going to work part time there and perhaps transition from his IT job to a full time position. He sent pictures of the retail space about 10,000 sq. ft. filled with nothing but guns of every description. This is a new direction for the company. When i question where did they get all the inventory, given the shortages. He said they have been stock piling for over two years, including ammo. He will get to use the ranges for free and employee discounts of everything else. They opened a week ago with a soft opening with great success. They have a web site but it has not been update but it does give you an idea how impressive the place is. I can't imagine what kind of toys he is going to bring home ( pending approval of she who must be obeyed). I'm not scheduled to go there until next summer but I am sure we will be constant communication on this new adventure for him.
