200,000 calories

My goal is to have 200,000 calories stocked up by September 30th. I’m buying extra each time I go to the store. In normal winters it is common to loose power and not be able to buy things for days. One year we were without power for three weeks.

I believe it is responsible to buy early and buy slow so no shortages are created.

I am buying basic foods.

This small package contains about 1,500 calories and a fair amount of protein. I need to balance calories, fat and protein while also paying attention to sodium and vitamins.

Expiration dates are also important.

I’m hoping business as usual this winter but don’t want to be caught short this winter. It’s not exactly my favorite foods as I prefer more fresh but fresh means not being able to have as much on hand.
