New addition to the family

Post by RanchRoper » Tue Apr 02, 2024 8:22 pm

Fresh out of the box, cleaned & oiled, Pedersoli Frontier .50 cal percussion in maple. Will shoot it this weekend (in the snow, more winter coming). My flintlock is named Chinook after the winds here, and my wife says she sees a little buffalo head in the stock grain on this one so it's named "iinii" which is Blackfoot for buffalo. :)

Congrats. I do love that maple in a muzzleloader. I've seen other maple stocks on MLs and think they have so much character, definitely more than the typical plain Pedersoli walnut stock.

This one is a little prettier than my maple flintlock. Not much but a little.

I never got into BP shooting, likely because I never had a mentor for the sport. But I've owned several of the beautiful rifles, and still do. That one has to lead the pack. If it shoots half as good as it looks, it will be a match winner. 😉

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
