Think I'll make smoke tomorrow morning. I checked the barrel tonight after cleaning a week ago. Looks good. I re-lubed it with Ballistol, don't think that was the problem with any fouling or what I thought was rust.

If no wind, I may try the 100 yd range with the Frontier .50.

I ordered a couple of lbs of Triple 7 powder from Cabelas Canada early this month. What a gong show. They shipped it from Cabelas Calgary on Jan 12th and sent me the tracking number. I checked a few days later and it shows delivered and signed for at Cabelas Calgary. Been on the phone with them several times while they keep saying it is delivered. Finally got them to understand what happened and they have re-shipped it. Hopefully see it next week. People!...they're the worst.

Well the gong show has begun with percussion caps. Sold out everywhere. People on Gunbroker charging 200.00 for a 1000 caps. I wonder if we need to stock up with rocks now for the flintlocks. Better get a flinter RR either that or buy rocks there next.

Received my 3 nipple set for the rifle from VTI Gun parts. Only problem is, they just shipped 1 in the bag. Does anybody pay any attention anymore to their job???? Does anyone give a crap anymore??? Customer service is non-existent these days at most companies.

Well had to cancel my order for powder, Cabelas just could not seem to get it right to ship it. So I will likely drive to Calgary and get some, maybe on weekend.

Cleaned my muzzleloader a week ago. Just checked the bore on it today. Clean as a whistle. No rust, no anything on the patches. So I take back all the bad press I gave Ballistol and will save the Hoppes for the cartridge guns.

Water/alcohol/dry it and lube with Ballistol.

I never have a problem with caps. I shoot flintlocks all the time. I have a percussion rifle that I made over 20 years ago and haven't put 100 rounds through it.
