No cleaning need when gun and bullet in "Tune"

Had my S&W M69 .44 Mag out yesterday for some plinking after working on my shed project at the range.
As you can see this was the bore untouched after firing 25 rounds of my Magnum loads using Matt's Bullets 230 gr. SWC loaded with 9.0 gr. of Unique.
No need at this point to clean the bore or cylinder...just a quick wipe down of Ballistol and back into the gun safe!

When doing own loads it is a happy point when you find one that shoots well and leaves no residue when shooting cast lead bullets.

Hadn't shot the M 69 lately and found that this load is about my limit for recoil in the smaller framed M 69 revolver for casual target shooting.
It still packs a good punch on the steel and had a good blast to it!

I hear you about the recoil. I've owned the 357 version in the Model 66 and full power 357 loads get your attention. 44 mags must be a real handful.

Gun was made for .44 Specials with the ability to handle .44 Magnum. But loading .44 Mag to lower levels is not bad at all.

Looking at your 69 makes me want to break out my old 629 Classic. I haven't shot this in many years since I quit handgun hunting for deer.

How's the accuracy with yours? I bought my 629 Classic quite a few years ago when a friend who owns a gun shop told me that his with the 8-3/8" barrel got 1-1/2" and less groups at 80 yards with the Black Hills Ammo. He had already bagged plenty deer with his so I got one just like it. He wasn't lying, mine shot that well also. I was getting less then 4 inch groups at 100 yards , which for a revolver , I thought was pretty darn good. The red dot was lacking for me at 100 yards though but zeroed in quite well up to 75 and 80 yards. Mine is still nice and tight as I don't shoot it much but the feel of it in the hand is such that I don't want to part with it.
