Uberti wood

Uberti's are not known for their wood, it is walnut but not like the HRA wood for sure. They use a reddish stain that some owners strip off right away. However, I have been using some fine furniture wax on mine once in awhile, and did it again tonight. I really like it. Some of the grain is coming out, which was not so much evident when I bought it.
And yes it is showing some wear & tear from packing it around in the saddle scabbard, and shooting lots as well. It's a cowboy rifle with character marks! :D

I didn't buy it to just look at it, although that gives me great pleasure too....

Nothing wrong with the looks of that wood. I have known a few people that had a plane looking stock and did strip it down and put a good oil finish on and found the wood to look much better than it use to.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Too fancy and you would be afraid to carry it in the saddle.
