Those .22 chambers are pretty small. What kind of brush do you guys use to get in them?
A standard .22 size brush.

Well, did you get out shooting?

.
Buy a Hoppes .22 cleaning kit or similar. It will have the cleaning attachments you need.

Sorry guys, I should have said; I have lots of cleaning supplies, in several calibers, rods brushes, patches, jags and the like from collecting over the years. I guess my concern was not to be over aggressive with my brushing. they are copper brushes; just wondered if there was a less aggressive nylon brush made. Maybe the brass will be OK on my new revolver and SGC. My bad. ;)

OK to use a nylon brush for less aggressive cleaning but you're not going to hurt modern steel parts with a brass/bronze/copper brush.

Have probably mentioned it before but Remington SQUEEG-E's are great for cleaning. After cleaning with a brush, one pull through with the SQUEEG-E and then one patch is enough to get all the crud out of the barrel/cylinders. Without it I always had to run multiple patches to get them to finally come out really clean. You do have to run your rod down and then attach it as they are only meant to pulled not pushed. Also I greatly prefer solid type jags to the slotted type.

Me too. I run them through a wet bore after:
brushing, dusting out with a dry swab and then running a wet swab through.

Gonna have to look for one of those SQUEEG-E's. Some enjoy cleaning their guns; I don't particularly, so the easier I can make it, the better!
Thanks guys!
Oh....I DO like getting them dirty. :D

I looked at the link. Certainly cheep enough. Will have to check the LGS.
I just wonder; lands and grooves, are just that. How can the SQUEEG-E get into the grooves. Seems like the brush first would be required.
Maybe a patch or two as well?

Gosh, they sure DO make a lot in nylon, don't they! Never had anything but brass. Depending on how often one cleans, nylon should do the job
I DO have a lot of supplies as I said before, which is probably why I haven't looked at the cleaning supply isle in stores for a while. :?

Ditto what Mags said, the SQUEEG-E is not meant to clean, just get the crud out after cleaning without having to use many patches to get it really cleaned out. I will usually run 1 or 2 dry cotton patches and then a very lightly oiled barrel mop after the SQUEEG-E.

Well, this is a cleaning topic in a cleaning sub-forum.

Ditto Dave's after doing the squeeg-e.

Yes, I did! right here outside the cabin I have an area to shoot. Had not yet shot the SGC outside yet, so did that, and shot the single ten as well.
Put only about 150 rounds down range from 25 yards. Have not posted target pics yet because results were un-satisfactory to me.
Made a couple adjustments to the SGC, but still had to move the rear Skinner all the way to the left, which improved from where I was hitting at first.
Think I'm gonna have to drift the front a bit to correct it. Don't like the rear being maxed out, as it is now. :?
As far as the single ten goes...very fun to shoot! :D Same distance, but had to adjust the rear for elevation, which was successful, but shooting to the right about 2-3 inches.
Got frustrated at one point, so I walked five yards from the target and holding one handed, put about a 3/4" group of 5, all in the bull.
Ammo used was CCI Mini Mags, Winchester Super X, and Remington Golden. Best results were the Winchesters. those Rem. Golden's sure seemed to shoot dirty.
Need to read about site adjustment on the Ruger and get out there again. Had a lot of fun though!
Thanks for asking Ed. :)
