New sight blade Ruger Single Seven

I didn’t care for the V-notch rear sight blade on my Single Seven. It’s designed to be used with the XS Big Dot front sight placing the dot in different elevations (orientations) for yardage compensation. I was going to get a replacement set from Williams which was a fire site set up. It’s expensive and at forty’s suggestion I looked for a replacement rear blade. Found one at Brownells and it arrived yesterday. I installed it this morning and I’m liking the sight picture much better. I wasn’t sure how a square notch would work out with a big dot front but the size of the dot and the rear notch work well together. Of course the proofs in the shooting which I’ll do next week.

Here’s the before and after.

Hatch, that looks like the ones on my two single-sixes and BH's.
The 41 mag BH has the white outline just like that, the others just that square notch without the white.
I'm betting you'll like it much better.
