We all loved Henry Firearms .org

I can't say enough how much we all appreciated the old site. The owner started it from scratch and made it into a great site. I'm not sure what happened, but it spurred Sir Henry and me to create this site. Neither of us had the permissions needed to take it over, so we went our own way.

Yes sir, the old site was really growing and held a lot of history for the older members. Glad I got to spend some time there. You and SH did a great job giving it a restart and keeping it going. Maybe someday we will find out what happened.
Thanks and a tip of the hat to the two of you for bringing us a new Henry home.

Dave and I talked about buying the old site but we just couldn't get the owner to sell. When I joined it the forum was near death and I posted life into it. The major problem before Dave and I became mods was there was no one around to approve new members so it didn't grow. I'm glad to see most of the regular posters there are now here.

I can remember the first time you joined the old site.
One of the first things you said was "It's kind of quiet in here"!!
I believe I was the first to respond to you.
...the old days.

I remember saying that. At one time it was going strong from what I've heard but I think they closed new members out because of bots.

It was a nice site before it was spammed, attacked or whatever it was. The owner, Quietman, had to eliminate all the problems by hand. When he was done, he sent out a sitewide email. That's how I knew to come back. It took him a long time and most did not come back.
Anyone heard from Geoboy? I hope he finds us. He's one of the few I haven't seen yet.

I think I joined it right after that.

To me "this" is the new home of HRA owners and we know that it is a stable place and will be here today ,next week, etc.

I think daytime dave and I are dedicated to keeping this forum going. And JEBar is onboard to help us too.

I'm going to stay here.....the main drivers of the old forum are here now and have created this new forum.
DD and SH basically ran the old sight anyway.
I would rather be a member where the owners are active and involved with a sight.
No disrespect to Quietman.

His name says it all.

I'm just the opposite. I'll post about anything and if I don't have anything to post about I'll post about not having anything to post about.

I plan on using this forum but I did check the other one out a bit ago. I made two (?) posts.
Some posters did not or do not know about this forum. They did not know what happened. They wondered why they were forbidden to enter the old forum or what they did since they could not get to it.
There has to be communication between posters, moderators and owners if there are forum issues.
I mean no disrespect to the old forum or owner.

I will also stay here, but I wanted to let everyone here know if they wanted to drop in there. Also I don't want to hijack the other forums members but some of them may not know about this new home. And there were some good folks over their who might miss us.

I'll be here .... really enjoyed the old forum but didn't care for the complexity involved in posting pictures and such .... do like this forum's factory endorsement .... what's the old movie line, If you build it they will come .... Dave and Sir Henry are building it and folks will come

I won't go back to the old site but if others want to that is fine with me. Even if people want to post in both forums. It is my goal to make this the best forum on Henrys and if Dave, JEBar and I make it the best then people will just want to post here. I know of one other site that has a lot of posts on Henrys and we will need to shoot our best here to compete with it. But even I still post there. Just not nearly as much. And I read most of the Henry posts just to keep in the game.
This forum takes a different approach to other forums. You can openly post about what is going on elsewhere as long as it fits in our policy about politics and religion.

I admire Daytime Dave and Sir Henry for lots of reasons, including their dedication to improving the former site during the time that they were moderators and for their willingness to step up to build a new one when the former site vanished without any explanation to them or to us. That they've recruited HRAC and Skinner to provide encouragement and support means they have our best interests at heart. Selecting JEBar as an additional moderator further demonstrates their commitment to quality.
In every online environment, continuing communication is the most important attribute leading to user satisfaction. Quietman failed to recognize it, while DD and SH not only recognized it, they have succeeded in demonstrating its importance again and again.
I'm proud to be an active member of this Henry forum.

Thanks. But its all about the members. People that own Henrys must be the nicest people in the world.

DayTime Dave & Sir Henry,
Since being on the HRF, as I've read in this thread and other threads, peoples' comments indicate there may be quite a few persons who have not yet found this new site, which you two gentlemen just built. So I went to the other forum web address, and read the post you put out there this morning.
Post on the old forum

From daytime dave and Sir Henry
I am glad to see Henry Firearms .org back and running.
Sir Henry and I had no idea what was wrong and could not contact quietman, the owner.
We loved this site and worked hard to continue quietman's great site. When the site was down and we could not help, we decided to purchase our own site.
I am providing a link here. You are welcome to join. Many fine people have interacted here and if this site continues, I wish everyone luck. Our new site is off to a great start.
I will likely check here from time to time, but I cannot say if the site will encounter anymore problems.
Here is our new site. All are welcome. http://www.henryrifleforums.com
Thanks
Dave

I think it's very good that you posted this notification and are giving those "left behind" the chance to reconnect. The statistic on the old forum showed there were 1400+ members on it.
So thanks for trying to help those who have lost contact.

There might have been 1,400+ members but not 1,400 active members.
I would say the majority of the active members are here now.
