Thanks. Almost missed the sunset photo shoot because a rescue was underway for 3 men who tipped their canoe. Three young men with kayaks paddled out to them and towed them safely to shore. No life jackets and 62 degree water, they were lucky that a few of us gather at that spot to shoot sunset.

Re: Sunrise/Sunset
Thankfully, they were helped. That had to have been an adrenaline pumped situation. Did you happen to get any shots of the actual rescue?eldermike wrote:Thanks. Re: Sunrise/Sunset
Beautiful shots sir, glad the rescue went well for the boaters.
I love shooting at sunrise, if it would come a little later in the day I would get out there more often.
For me there is something different about the light in the morning. I think I am just better at adjusting the camera with increasing light than I am at sunset going the other way.

Re: Sunrise/Sunset
Most mornings I'm out feeding horses around 5am so from now on until fall I can get some nice sunrises. But you have to be fast, they change very quickly. The photos above are postcard perfect I think.

Re: Sunrise/Sunset
I didn't take a single shot. They were about 1/4 mile out and I could hear them yelling for help so we made others aware that something was wrong out on the water. At that point people in the campground went into action and kayaks hit the water. I had on a 10mm lens (on a crop sensor camera, which yields about 14mm). They were just dot's on the page with that lens.CT_Shooter wrote:Thankfully, they were helped. That had to have been an adrenaline pumped situation.
