Pattaconk Lake in Cockaponset State Forest in CT was formed when a dam was built at the head waters of Pattaconk Creek. In 1982, floods damaged the dam and it needed to be rebuilt, so the lake was drained.
For decades, my wife and I loved to swim, fish, and hike around this lake, so we went to walk around the lake bottom while it was empty. There were just a lot of tree stumps -- and this.
Guess who just had a birthday? We did. Henry Rifle Forums has made it to the 10 year mark. Thank you to all members, I'm glad you are here!
