Umarex CO2 Saver

Post by dave77 » Wed Apr 14, 2021 11:59 pm

FYI, it will not work on the Umarex 850M2, tried it with a empty tank so can't speak to how well it works but the cover won't go back on all the way. Probably could to modify the cover to make it fit, if I could get a spare I might try it but not on my only cover. I'll give them a call and see if the cover is available for a reasonable price.

Bummer Dave but I would think you could return that at Amazon. I saw one of the Umarex 850's for sale on another forum for 240.00 brand new in the box. Its in 177 caliber.

Very interesting. I'm a newbie when it comes to CO2. I am enjoying it, though. Definitely has a place in my shooting.

Its an adapter Gene that allows the use of one of the smaller CO2 cartridges rather than the 88g that the gun normally uses

No, the CO2 saver is a small unit with a valve that you attach to a 88g cartridge so you can remove it from the gun without losing any CO2, it makes the cartridge a little too long to get the cover back on my rifle.

I'm pretty sure the 2x12g adapter will work, UmarexUSA's site has a link to it on the same page as the 850M2 rifle and it supposed to be the same size as a 88g cartridge. According to UmarexUSA it's supposed to back in stock mid to late May.

Sorry I thought it was so you could use the smaller cartridges. I read it wrong

Hey Dave how are you liking the Umarex. I see there is a place on Amazon where you can get 5 of those big 88g CO2 cart. for 40.00. Thats a pretty good deal.

Was also curious Dave what height rings you used on the scope.

Local Sportsmans Warehouse carries 2 packs of the Umarex 88g cartridges for $16 so about the same price. Still waiting for the 12g adapters to come back in stock. Also need to call them to see if I can get another cartridge cover, I think I can make it fit the valve adapter with a bit of trimming but don't want to mess it up if I can't get a replacement for it.

These are the rings I got for it, work great, seem to be very well made.

FYI, the 2x12g adapter is back in stock. BTW, if you only want to use one 12g cartridge you can load it with one full cartridge and one empty cartridge.

Got the 2x12g adapter today, fits fine in my 850 M2, should fit in any gun that uses a 88g CO2 cartridge. I didn't realize that it has a valve so you can remove it from the gun when it still has some CO2 left in it although you do lose a little CO2 when removing it. If it ever cools off enough to do some shooting I will find out how many shots I get on 1 and 2 12g cartridges. It's been in the high nineties and hundreds most of July and doesn't look like it going to cool down anytime soon.

Id be curious also to see if the velocity is affected by only using one or 2 Cartridges.

I don't have any way to accurately measure velocity, I could compare how much they penetrate into a board.
