Backyard Plinking

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Sep 04, 2026 8:34 pm

The 1377 is pretty accurate. I have ordered a thicker forearm for mine to make the pumping easier for my old hands, but it's a shooter. I looked on Amazon and found a cheap little pellet gun/22 swinger target for around $20 and set that up off the back patio. I walk out and shoot 5 to 10 rounds, then back in to hide from the heat. 100+ degrees these days, but I make it a point to go out and shoot a half dozen times a day. I have 'er set up at about seven yards right now. With the small swinging disks, about an inch and a half, it's still a challege as I learn the sights and the trigger. I'm shooting at about 75%. When I start hitting in the 90% range, I'll move the setup back to ten yards, then maybe fifteen, if I can SEE the disks that far back.

The swinger is actually pretty cool for $20. If you hit the bottom yellow targets they swing pretty easy, even with half power on the 1377. (five pumps) If you were to shoot them with the .22, they would swing around and stay on the rod behind them. When all four were staged, you shoot the orange reset above them and they would fall back down ready to shoot again.

The pellet gun doesn't flip them around at half power, so no need to reset, but IF I have a four for four run, I shoot the top orange disk as a reward. Easily worth my $20. ;)

Glad you are enjoying yourself! Where did you order the forearm from?

Good for you. I have several of them and even with rimfire they don’t always spin all the way up.

Those are fun Marine.
I also have an airgun dueling tree and a squirrel with center hole and reset. All are fun and somewhat challenging.

That heat is too much for me. It's almost 64F here with a slight breeze on the deck. Perfect.

Buck Rail has a lot of accessories for the air guns.
Priced fairly. In my case, due to the location, no shipping on the forearm.
You can go ALL IN on the 1377/1322 and really deck them out. Wire stocks, steel breech, custom trigger, top rail for scope, or target sights, longer barrel or suppressor...

Um, think I'm good for now. I just want to ring the steel, break ice cubes, or knock over a can. The forearm will make pumping easier.
