I need some info on lubes. I've been using Franklin Arsenal lanolin/alcohol spray for a couple years, and am not too happy with it. The spray is convenient, the lube works well. But, it is a pain to remove it after sizing. Am I missing something?

Do any of you have advice on a better product?

One way to remove that lube is stick the cases back in the tumbling media after you resize them. I assume you are talking about rifle cases because I dont use any lube on pistol brass I buy the carbide dies to eliminate that.

I've been using Mink Oil for the past few years, I like it better than the lanolin/alcohol spray and a bit easier to just wipe off.
Al I use the wet tumbler now after the media tumbler quit a couple years ago.

I have one of those thumblers tumblers down in basement and havent used it since I quit shooting BPCR. It needs a drive belt and a tub gasket now as there probaby dried out from age. But my vibrators are still going.

Whether using lube like RCBS case lube-2, a spray like Hornady One Shot, or a wipe on like Hornady Unique, you have to get it off. I grumble under my breath and just wipe it off. (grumbling is one of the key joys of reloading) I'd rather not get it into the cleaning media. I think even if you soak them in a solvent that you will throw away, they'll probably need some wiping. Don't want any of that getting in the chamber.

I've used RCBS case lube-2 squirt bottle. It's water soluble, the brass could be put into a basket, rinsed and then let dry, though I just wipe the brass off with a paper towel or cotton rag.

Lately, I've been using RCBS CASE SLICK SPRAY LUBE (pump spray). I also just wipe it off with a paper towel or cotton rag.

[Edit: I use a lube pad. I don't spray stand alone cases as I don't want to have deal with an over-spray of the surrounding area.]

I’m really happy with Hornady One Shot Case Lube. I put 50 cases in a loading block neck up and give them a spray from a couple of directions. Next I turn them upside down and spray them again in order to get the bases lubed. After sizing all is required is a light wiping with a cloth rag. I’ve never stuck a case doing this.

Hornady One Shot spray lube also. Seems to work fine. Sure beats the lube pad of yesteryear.

I still use the lube pad. I don't have the space to deal with an over-spray mess of the other methods. .

Oh, nothing wrong with the lube pad, I've just gotten a bit lazier in some things.

If I'm doing a large number of cases, I put them in a large zip loc bag and spray them and shake 'em up. Put them in a cardboard box-top (a couple of inches deep) for a few minutes and let 'em dry.
Fewer cases, I'll use the lube pad - it seems to have therapeutic properties.
But we haven't come up with a "no wipe" approach.
Must be a technical reason there aren't carbide rifle dies.

I won't use that method. I don't want liquid lube inside the cases to contaminate the powder.
