Spent yesterday in Yellowstone, hoping that most of the tourists had gone home. Still way too many humans in the park, and I remember why we don’t come in the summer. Anyway, we got to see 4 grizzlies and a black bear, which helped my attitude somewhat. Two of the bears were within camera range, so here’s proof that griz is still alive and well in Yellowstone
The big dark colored bear is laying on the carcass of a big bull elk, presumably that he killed. The silvertip looks to be a young bear, but has the classic colors of what we think of when we think of a grizzly bear.

Nice. Didn't you want to do the regular Yellowstone touristy thing, run up and get a selfie with Ol' Grizz to impress your friends? Maybe go all out and pet him or give him a hug, since it's a park and, like, ya know, they are tame pets? Then, when he gets all irritated, and the claws and teeth come out, you can, like, you know, try to sue the park.

It amazes me when people run up on the bears, bison, big cats, like they are the neighbor's dog. Or blatantly ignore the "Do not feed" signs, thinking, what could it hurt.

Watched a touron, as we call them, stick her phone out of the car window to get a closeup of a buffalo bull, that was about 10 feet from her. I was so hoping that the bull would nail her car door to get her attention, but alas, he gave her a pass. I swear that they take stupid pills as soon as they enter the park.

I hope that the photo was taken with a telephoto lens.

This bear was harvested a few days ago about 30 miles east of me. It’s unknown how it was shot. Currently it’s bow and Jr/disabled hunting only.

A neighbor sent me the picture. He is always sending me game pictures. Usually live ones on his land taken with a game camera.

That IS a biggun. Someone should be proud. LOL.
