You're welcome. But unfortunately, the authorities, and the public at large, always look for an easily defined motive/reason for things like this NYC event; because what Heinlein observed cannot be fixed by laws or money.

I grew up reading Heinlein. Influenced a lot of my thinking and behavior. I have probably read most of his writings with "Stranger in a Strange Land" my bible for a long time. I did not always agree with him but he made me look at things in a different way.

I first read Stranger in a Strange Land in the early seventies and read it a few times more in that first decade afterward. Interestingly, I just read it again a couple of months ago. It's a great novel that absolutely shaped my life. "May you always drink deep. May you never be thirsty."

I mentioned this before, but the rise of lawlessness has been foretold: Matthew 24:12.

I too read the book about a month ago. Maybe we are starting to "Grok" with each other.

I don't think there's a book by Heinlein that I haven't read and I still have most of them. His early novels for kids were very tame but his later novels starting with "Stranger in a Strange Land" brought up some subjects that would definitely shock a lot of people.

Have you read "Grumbles From The Grave", not a novel but a collection of letters that he wrote over his life, edited by his wife Virginia after his death.

No markings on it. I picked it up at a gun show several years ago. Supposedly was made somewhere in MO.
