The Army is celebrating 250 years of keeping America safe and free. I come from a long line of Army veterans, and I am proud to have been part of the Green Machine as well. Happy Birthday, US Army.

Happy Birthday Y'all. Sadly, due to multiple credible threats, the parade and citywide celebration scheduled in Lawton, Oklahoma today was cancelled. Lawton is the home of Fort Sill, a large Artillery training base for the Army and Marine Corps. The concerns were not so much for the military, who don't back down from threats lightly, but the civilians in the surrounding communities who would sponsor and attend the celebration.

Thats really sad BOM. Ive got more respect for our vets than I do for our government. Im not sure where we are headed right now but Im sure not liking some of the things that are taking place.

Yes, it is ashame that some people don't like this Country. Yet, they still stay. I agree; the road ahead looks bumpy.

Ahh, good old Ft Sill, my last 5 years were spent there, minus two deployments to play in the sandbox. Too bad there was a threat, would have been a great parade there.

Both side's love their county. The sane one's want to stay and solve the differences and not run away from problems. "Love it or leave it" is not a solution.

I don't want to make a big issue, yet, burning the US flag does not seem like a sign of love to me. Just like being in a marriage, fighting (hitting, beating, burning or shooting) does not lead to a happy ending. At least, not for both sides. Lot of people have loss their blood because of the flag. Just don't seem like a good way to honor those who gave their life for this Country. Then, that is just me.
