Well I knew it would blow up when they installed their "new and better" online system where the old one worked so well. You have to reapply to the new system and part of it now is a special code they send you in a text EVERY TIME you want to log in to move money check deposits and do Bill Pay.
For last several days had no success getting the code sent as they didn't have my correct phone number for some reason. No help trying to call them as their phones were not being answered because of all the members raising hell! So I drive down there this morning for a face to face to get this mess fixed. Wife's account has all the Bill Pay set up on it and had no way to stay on top of it all.
The place was full of cars parked and they had 6 spaces coned off so to hell with a cone I ran over it and parked with a crumpled up orange cone smelling like it was melting under the car!
Get in there and cute young lady says there are several folks ahead of me for help and I say NO we fixing it NOW. Manager walks up and says yes sir come this way and we fix. So I have to change all the passwords and junk and he says it should be fine to log in but the Bill Pay may not be able to be moved from wife's account to mine. Wasn't a problem with the old setup at all! When I was walking back to the car I see someone had crawled under the car and removed the cone which sat there in a crushed state with some smoke coming off of it!
So end of the day and I can get on my account and hers but not all of the bill pay. Have to go back Monday and crack some heads to get it RIGHT!

These are the times I'm glad that we don't do any banking online.

I'm a very long time user of all the on-line banking systems. They're great, until they're not. Thankfully, I've been able to get my issues resolved through their customer service call-in lines in almost all instances. That's after you go through all the push button for this, press another for that part. Getting the real person is usually how it gets fixed. That said, it's amazing how every one has subtle differences, and none of them really have the same user interface. Some seem to require you to be running the latest operating system on your phone, and my iPhone 6 wouldn't work with the app for a couple banks, so I just used the phone to access their site like you'd do from a computer, that worked until I got the new phone.
I've even gotten to where I am almost completely paperless, only tax forms anything that I am sure I'll want a hard copy of is delivered by the USPS.

That confirmation code is becoming a standard thing too. Here's my work-around: if you just wait until the text notification comes in, tap the notification to open it, then close that notification, you can tap the box to enter the code. On my phone, it offers me the option of pasting that just received code into the box, and it then takes me right to the main page. My job started using third party confirmations a year or so back, and I'd have to open this Google app to get a code that changes every 30 seconds to gain access to certain files or directories. I think this kind of thing isn't going away.

I opened an account at a lofal credit union because they have a coin counting machine that customers can use. I had a 50 cal ammo can full of change, so my membership there let me use that, and I just deposited the total. Makes for a nice little slush fund. Their on-line banking is really weird though, and it has been "updated" at least three times in the past year, which causes issues every time. Thankfully, this isn't an account I use very often.

I'm sure you'll get it straightened out, Forty. Good luck tomorrow.

I had similar issues after my wife passed away and there were various credit accounts in her name and that I had access to. All of them were terminated by the owners. The only account that I wish I could have just switched to my name was for the cellphone, but nope! Can't do that! Had to get a new account. Actually turned out to be OK. I ended up buying a $150 unlocked Motorola Android phone from Amazon and installed a T-Mobile Pay-Ahead SIM. They automatically charge my CC $16.68 each month for unlimited 5G phone service, unlimited texts, and 5 Gigs of data (an amount I have never approached).

On the other hand, I've used the online services of my banks for decades and, so far, without any issues. Knock wood. I only access them from my home computer. I've never used my cell phone for anything other than texting, talking, driving directions, and taking pictures. Every time I hear or see an advertisement telling me how much I'll save or earn or get for free by just using their mobile app, I smile. No thanks.

Forty, hopefully tomorrow will be fruitful and this mess will be behind you.

My online banking is done from my computer. I don't use mobile apps and won't. Medical providers have recently started on this trend with their AI apps and texts. I won't do those either.

I use my iPhone like a computer and have few problems. I think going back and forth between computers and iPhones causes a lot of problems. I always use my own service to get online and never join other networks. And I don’t allow others to use mine.
